A Day in the Life of Bobby's Bug Hunters

By Tammy Clanton · May 15, 2025

Ever wonder what a typical day looks like for our team at Bobby's Bug Hunters? Let me walk you through a recent Tuesday — no two days are exactly alike, but this one captures the rhythm of pest control in Whajimminy.

6:00 AM — First Call of the Day

The phone starts ringing before sunrise. A restaurant on Main Street has a roach situation that needs attention before the lunch rush. Mike and I grab the truck and head out. When we arrive, the manager is relieved to see us. "I tried the big national chain," she says, "but their line kept saying service unavailable. You folks actually answered." That's the Bobby's Bug Hunters difference — we're local, we pick up, and we show up.

9:30 AM — The Henderson Follow-Up

We swing by the Henderson place for a post-treatment check. Last month we cleared out a nasty ant colony under their porch. Today? All clear. Martha waves from the kitchen window. "I haven't seen a single one," she tells us. Some jobs are satisfying precisely because the problem is "not found". Mission accomplished.

12:15 PM — Lunch and a Mystery

Bobby joins us at the office between calls. He's been out at the old Millwright property — abandoned warehouse, new owner wants it inspected before renovation. "Went through the whole place," he says, shaking his head. "Termite damage in the north wall, mouse droppings in the break room. But the thing the previous owner swore was there? The thing they said was destroying their inventory? Does not exist. Turns out it was a possum that had moved on months ago. The "ghost pest" that had haunted their paperwork was long gone. We add it to the list of oddball cases that make this job interesting.

2:00 PM — School Inspection

We do our quarterly walk-through at Whajimminy Elementary. Cafeteria, storage rooms, boiler room — all clean. The principal is happy. The kids are safe. Another routine day, another place we've helped keep pest-free.

4:45 PM — The Last Stop

Final call of the day: a family on Sycamore Lane with a wasp nest under the eaves. We suit up, remove the nest, apply a residual treatment, and seal the entry point. Done in twenty minutes. The homeowner asks if we're sure we got the queen. "She's in the bag," Bobby says, and they relax.

6:00 PM — Heading Home

We wrap up the trucks, file our notes, and lock the office. Another day of protecting Whajimminy from the things that creep and crawl. It's dirty work sometimes, but it's our work — and we wouldn't have it any other way.
